Core Handling & Safety Guidelines
While standard thermoplastic filaments are generally stable and safe to handle in solid form at room temperature, safe practices must be followed during hot-melt extrusion:
- Ventilation: Printing materials such as ABS, ASA, and PA-CF releases volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and ultrafine particles. Ensure your workspace is equipped with local exhaust ventilation or a HEPA/activated carbon filtration system.
- Temperature Boundaries: Avoid heating filaments beyond their recommended processing ranges. Thermal degradation can release hazardous decomposition byproducts.
- Post-Processing Dust: Mechanical finishing, such as sanding, grinding, or cutting printed parts, can create airborne micro-particulates. Wear a suitable dust mask (such as an N95 rating) to avoid inhalation.
Regulatory Compliance
Lanbo Filament works alongside raw resin suppliers to ensure compliance with relevant chemical and consumer safety frameworks. Our materials are audited to confirm alignment with RoHS Directive 2011/65/EU, REACH Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006, and regional directives regarding substances of very high concern.
