The Manufacturing Line
Curious about how raw thermoplastic resin is transformed into high precision 3D printing filament? At Lanbo Filament, we believe in manufacturing transparency. We offer both on-demand virtual walkthroughs and scheduled on-site tours of our production facility for business partners, educational institutions, and industrial clients.
Raw Material Preparation & Dehumidification
Thermoplastic pellets (such as PLA and PETG) are highly hygroscopic. Before extrusion, raw materials are loaded into industrial desiccant dryers to eliminate trace moisture, ensuring bubbles and sputtering do not occur during final use.
Precision Melt Extrusion
The dried resin is gravity-fed into heated extruders, where a custom-engineered screw profile melts and blends the plastic. Masterbatches are introduced at this stage to achieve deep, uniform coloration.
Multi-Stage Water Calibration & Laser Gauging
The extruded hot plastic strand enters temperature-regulated cooling baths. During this process, high-speed multi-axis laser micrometers measure the outer diameter, feeding real-time adjustments back to the haul-off motor to hold tolerances within ±0.02mm.
Automated Spooling, Sealing, & Quality Control
Filament is neatly wound onto spools with tension-optimized machinery to prevent tangling. Finished spools undergo batch validation checks before being vacuum-sealed with fresh desiccant and boxed for shipment.

Scheduling
Requests must be submitted at least 14 business days in advance to coordinate with factory floor schedules.
Group Sizes
To ensure safety, group sizes are generally limited to a maximum of 10 participants per session.
Safety & Attire
Closed-toe shoes and safety glasses (provided by us) are required at all times while on the manufacturing floor. Hairnets or high-visibility vests may be required in designated zones.
Media Policy
Due to proprietary tooling and machinery setups, photography and video recording are prohibited inside active production halls unless authorized.
